Oh my goodness...It has almost been forever! But I was away for over a month...and thus....
But here is a quick summary of my adventures!
December 22...last day of classes. Brighid gets really sick becuase we ate some nasty liver (on accident of course! I didnt know it was liver), so I teach classes...and the students have presents for us...and are so sweet...and I dont want to leave them.
December 23...I leave on the train for St Petes
December 24...Ice Skating with Katie...Christmas eve service....
December 25th CHRISTMAS....an Irishman makes us a great dinner
December 27th leave for England
London for 5 nights....great time with Emily! We met some cool Australian guys and spend the whole first day with them....highlights include the ferry ride on the Thames, standing on the Prime Meridian, Westiminster Abbey, and NEW YEARS EVE at Big Ben!! With 20 minutes of the best fire works ever!
Jan1-5th Scotland....with the Rooney family!We got to see Scotland from a non tourist point of view which was awesome. We hiked, saw lots of nature, saw JM Barrie's home and grave site, saw St Andrews (my great grand father was born there). And I visited a real Lady who lives in the Kinnordy house...and had tea with her. We were well taken care of and had lovely company during our entire stay!
Jan6-7 Edinburgh...one of the coolest cities I have ever been in, literally. Must go back! Great castle there too!!
Jan 8th- Em flies to Rome with me....see my parents and aunt and uncle. Highlights...St Peters, Vatican, coliseum, ancient ruins, gelato!, chianti!
Jan 11-em leaves... onto Venice. Great city...my favorite? I dont know. San Marco and the mosaics in that church are more than the mind can take in. Gondola ride, getting lost, new jacket, more gelato....dad leaves the 14th.
Jan 15 Florence....beautiful! Wine tour, countryside walk, vineyards....more gelato...shopping, Pitti Palace, nails done...love my hotel! Great food....and my mom:)
Jan 19th Russ! I was slightly nervous before his arrival, but needent have been.
Mom left the 21st...Russ and I headed to Florence and spent 4 nights there in Leonardos Hostel. Quality time, DAVID, the Accademia, Uffitzi, walks, bridges, picnic, goodtimes...
He left on the 25th. Me on the 26th. Flew back to St Petes...3 days there...now I am back in Vologda!
It is great to be back! -15 degrees during the day...two feel of snow!
